About Us

Rick asked me, Melissa, to write this for him, so here goes.  When I met Rick we had a long distance relationship.  He told me about his life through letters.  I got to know him without any face to face communication, and I really knew the real him.  He told me about his family and how they travelled a lot.  They had a ministry that was not as we perceive “the ministry.”  Theirs was more of a helps ministry.  If there was a church, Bible Institute, or missionary that needed help, they moved to meet the need.  In the meantime, Rick learned A LOT about Bible Doctrine.

I tell everyone that the number one reason I married Rick was because he knew the Bible better than I did and he had a way of leading that made it easy to follow.  He was smart, serious, and funny.  Not just that but he was a great teacher and writer.  I remember before we were married, I read a story that he wrote about his time in Papua New Guinea.  I felt like I was right there with him, even down to the creepy feeling when he described the leeches crawling up his legs in the swamp during a two day hike to a “bush church” as a translator.

Then a little while ago, he brought up the idea of writing a book called Roadmap Through Revelation.  As he wrote it I would pick it up and really understand what was going on because he put short stories in the book that made so much sense to me.  He made graphs that gave a timeline of events, harmonizing the four accounts of the end times.  I learned more than I ever knew existed concerning dragons, crowns, and earthquakes.

He’s a great teacher, a little bit sarcastic in his humor, but I like sarcasm.  Who says learning can’t be fun?

Rick's Note: After being asked who I am enough times, I wrote a little bio: click here for it. :-)

God has given me a passion to learn all I can about how to have a home that is a place of peace, joy and rest; not fear and turmoil.  Growing up, I understood what the Bible said a home SHOULD be like, I just didn’t know HOW to accomplish it.  I went to Bible College and got my Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling and have since gotten married and have had three little girls.  I now have the home life that I have always wanted, and I give all the glory to God for teaching me that “the Bible works.”

I started writing articles to share with ladies and most importantly my daughters the lessons I’ve learned and the “How To’s” of having a fruitful Christian life, a great marriage, and a clear mind about how to train children while enjoying them. I hope to pass on the truths I have learned by relating Bible passages and principles to real life stories and illustrations.

Before you read any of my articles, I would appreciate it if you would take the time to read the one on “A Matter of the Heart“  It sets the tone for everything I write about.  And as you read, remember: “You can ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS trust God and His Word.”
